Fábia Rebordão
Born in Lisbon, Fábia Rebordão is one of the leading voices of contemporary fado. Her work combines the emotional depth of Portuguese song with echoes of soul, Cape Verdean morna, Brazilian music, blues and jazz.
Her international career has taken her to Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with an orchestra conducted by Vince Mendoza, HIFA Festival in Zimbabwe, Kriol Jazz Festival in Cape Verde and major stages across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Winner of the Amália Rodrigues Revelation Award, she has collaborated with artists including Ney Matogrosso, Sérgio Godinho, João Pedro Pais, Dino D’Santiago, Tito Paris and Fausto Bordalo Dias. She was also invited by Madonna to participate in the Lisbon-filmed documentary Madame X.
Her acclaimed album Pontas Soltas confirms an artistic identity that is fearless, contemporary and deeply rooted in fado, transforming tradition into a living and universal art form.
